Ethos Group
Ethos Group
The Ethos Group meet every Monday from 12- 12.25 with Ms Charlesworth, Pastoral Lead or Mrs Dewsbury, Year 3 class teacher. The group consists of 2 children from each year group. Ethos focuses on developing children’s knowledge and understanding of the school’s Christian values and the rights of the child in fun and engaging ways. Activities include crafts, discussions and games.
The Ethos Group meet to plan activities focusing on a Christian value or article from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child. Children are then invited to take part in these activities in their class' reflection area. Ethos Group members are responsible for resourcing and explaining their activity. These activities are also completed in the quiet area of the playground at lunchtime.
Ethos Group meet to plan their worship which they lead on Thursdays for the whole school. Themes for worship are topical events which are related to our British values, Christian values and rights respecting articles.
The Ethos Group also vote on which charities the school will be supporting for the current academic year. This year the charities are:
Local - St Luke's
National - RNLI
Global - Unicef and Christian Aid
The Ethos Group help to plan events during the year. In December, they helped Mrs Hunt to plan our Messy Christmas day - selecting activities and organising the resources for each class. On the day, they led the worship for the whole school.
