Welcome to Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School
Our Vision
At the heart of everything is a personalised approach to each unique individual as part of our Christian Community. The strong family ethos ensures that all children and staff feel valued, respected and grow in self-confidence. Enthusiastic and caring staff with high expectations, demonstrate care of the whole child. Through God’s guidance we encourage each and every child to let their light shine.
Firstly may I warmly welcome you and encourage you to read on about our school. We are delighted that you have taken the time to find out about life and learning at Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School and hope that our website gives you an insight into our happy, vibrant and caring school.
When I was lucky enough to be appointed I felt warmth and dedication from the whole school community and this has continued to grow. When you visit our school you will see and feel this as you soak in the learning environment and our church school ethos. As a church school, we hold Christian values at the heart of everything we do. Every child is precious and unique and we do our very best to ensure that our children flourish and develop a passion for learning, so that they reach their full potential.
My staff and I ensure that the curriculum is vast, exciting and invigorates all learners whilst being underpinned by our connected approach. Time is taken for all the children to be valued and nurtured educationally, creatively and spiritually within our school family. We have good links with our Church, St Boniface, and we enjoy a shared partnership with the whole church and surrounding community.
I strive for my pupils and staff to aim high and believe in themselves, ensuring that they 'let their light shine' within our caring Christian family.
Parents and extended family play an important role in a child's learning. We believe in securing strong partnerships which are formed in the early days and then developed and strengthened as the children go on their learning journey. Together we strive to ensure that all children achieve and develop into confident young individuals who have high levels of well-being.
As Principal of Bunbury I am aware of the challenges past and present our children face. The impact of covid and the current financial situation continue to place our children under considerable pressure both socially and academically. As a school we are very aware of the impact these events have had on our children and as a Principal and staff team we strive to ensure the effects are reduced as much as we can.
I look forward to welcoming you and your children to our school.

Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary School is proud to be part of the Rural Church Schools Academy Trust.
Bunbury is a happy school where everyone matters. We aim to provide the very best education for all the children in our care, by contributing to their intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development.
Our children are our richest resource and we seek to foster a love of learning and of life. We believe that education empowers children to make informed choices about their life and to choose their future.
We pride ourselves on being an extended family in which everyone is valued within our learning community.
We believe that the relationships we develop with our children and their families enables us to create a warm and welcoming ethos which is so evident throughout our school.
We actively encourage hard work, high expectations and happiness through our broad and balanced curriculum. We hope that during your child's time with us, they really enjoy coming to school, learn to like themselves and others and develop a love of learning. As a parent, we hope that you feel that you can approach us with anything that troubles you or your child and that we can work together to make sure your child makes the most of their childhood years.
Our aim is to help to prepare your children to value and embrace their future. Bunbury is a very special school and we are proud of our pupils and their successes. We are a Church of England Primary School with strong links to St Boniface Church, Bunbury and the community.
The school, named after its founder, Thomas Aldersey, dates back to 1594 when it was a boys’ grammar school. The school buildings and grounds are owned by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers, one of the twelve Great Livery Companies of London, but is now administered by the Rural Church Schools Academy Trust. The Worshipful Company of Haberdashers takes a Trustee interest in the school and provides annual endowment funding which support projects at the school. Members of the Company visit St Boniface church in Bunbury annually and present Bibles to each Year 6 pupil during that visit. Year 6 visit Haberdashers’ Hall in London every year. 'Our School rejoices in its foundation as a Church of England school. The Christian ethos is both implicit and explicit in our practice, policies and procedures. Our Christian distinctiveness is evident everywhere; from the entrance, and the Bible verses displayed throughout the school, to the children’s exemplary behaviour. Our values are based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and are theological and inclusive. They permeate the children’s whole experience and are at the heart of our curriculum and school life in order for them to thrive in the wider world.'
If a parent/carer requests a paper copy of the information on our school website, we will provide this free of charge.
