reception News week beginning monday 21st September
Date: 20th Sep 2015 @ 3:42pm
Well done Reception you have completed your first two days at school. I don't think it was too arduous for them! Learning to tidy all the equipment is probably the biggest difficulty and learning the rules of the classroom and school. So that they are more independent. They will be very tired after a whole week. We had a lovely time in the rain on Friday afternoon. The boys especially loved it. I put them in school waterfproofs and they brushed the water down the drains. This is really good for their gross and fine motor control. The class also went out into the school woods. They loved exploring somewhere new. As a class they love to be outdoors moving sand and water.
This week we will start phonics. The children will be split into groups according to their knowledge . We find this is the fastest way to move children on.
For a speaking and listening activity we will be talking about the children's weekend. We will look at their diaries together. We will then attempt to mark make in their writing books.
Mr Park will be playing a game based around the Three Little Pigs. We are very lucky to have him in our classroom working with us for this half term.
I will also try to send the children to an activity in a group without an adult and see how long they last!
All part of the training. This is a very exciting and tiring time of year for everyone!
