Year 5 trip to Jodrell Bank – Tuesday 27th February 2024
As part of our learning about space in science, a trip has been arranged for Year 5 to visit Jodrell Bank.
This experience will provide the children with an opportunity to take a guided tour of the Solar System and discover constellations in the Space Dome. We will continue our journey of discovery in the exhibitions, learning how the Lovell Telescope views the Universe and about the live science taking place at this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our visit has been booked for Tuesday 27th February 2024 and we will be out of school for the whole day. Our coach leaves promptly at 9am, so please can all children to arrive at school at 8.30am when the gates open. The coach will return to school for the end of the school day.
All children will need to bring a packed lunch in a lunch box/bag and their usual water bottle. Jodrell bank discourages all single use plastic, so there will be a trolley where the children can leave their lunch boxes and water bottles during our visit. However, there is not space for rucksacks so please do not send your child with one on the day. Please also ensure that children wear their full school uniform and have a warm waterproof coat.
The cost of this trip will be £21.46. This will pay for the transport to and from Jodrell Bank, the entrance fee and Space Dome experience. Please consent and make payment online at SchoolMoney by Friday 16th February 2024. Should you require financial assistance towards the cost of the trip, please speak in confidence with Mrs Badger.
