Year 3 w/b 18.1.16

Date: 17th Jan 2016 @ 7:53pm

Hi everyone,

I am writing this blog from a very snowy Stoke. I had a lovely wintery walk along the canal this morning. I hope you had a lovely weekend - did Bunbury get any snow?

You all worked SO hard last week in order to get our reports ready for press. They were all fantastic and I really enjoyed reading them. Bunbury Village website have already put our newspaper report in the website. Here is a link if you wish to read it: http://www.bunburyvillage.info/index.php/village/bunbury-primary-school. I have also had a lovely email from the editor of Bunbury Link which I will share with you tomorrow.

This week in English we will be looking at the great legend of St George and the Dragon. We will be taking on the role of a story teller and learning this story by heart. This week will focus on retelling the story and using 'boxing up' to help us think about paragraph. This will lead to you inventing your own stories about St George and creating your own beast for him to slay!

In maths we will be looking at properites of 2D shapes and we will begin to look at finding the perimeter of 2D shapes. There will be lots of practical activites in maths lessons this week involving your shoulder partner.

During our afternoons we will be thinking about Hindu Gods, we will research King Richard II (will we find the missing piece of information we need for our mystery?) and look at shadows in science.

Please don't forget to do some of your Takeaway homework, you should of already done one piece and be thinking about the second one. I know lots of you are busy making models of Beeston.

See you tomorrow

Miss Cork :)
