Reception News week beginning 23 10 17
Date: 22nd Oct 2017 @ 6:08pm
The end of the children's first half term, they have done so well and coped with the routine of school.
This week we are finishing off Leafman and the book Pumpkin Soup. We will be making pumpkin soup and thinking about the feelings of the characters in the story. In RE we have been thinking about the story of the Good Samaritan and we are going to link the stories with the concept of kindness. The children also did some work with Ms Brown on Divali and made some candle holders.
In number we are thing about shape and pattern. Most of the children have a good idea of 2D shape names and some idea of pattern. We are now beginning to look at the properties of shape and linking pattern to art.
At the end of the week we will be sending reading books home for half term. They are changed every Tuesday. Please could you make sure they are in for that day?
We wish you all a restful half term.
